Al Davis, Hue Jackson & Raiders Keeping Quiet

Everything has been extremely quiet with the Raiders. A new CBA deal is expected to be reached within a week, which is obviously excellent news for all of us.

Guys like Michael Bush and Zach Miller will now be unrestricted free agents. Miller is a lock to be back in Oakland, as he and the Raiders were close to reaching a deal before the lockout. Michael Bush should be back as well.

A week or so ago, Hue Jackson was interviewed on NFL Network. When asked what his plans were if Nnamdi Asomugha left, he replied with the cliche “Next guy up” line.

More than likely, that’ll contradict with Mr. Al Davis’ plan. Expect guys like Jonathan Joseph and Antonio Cromartie to be in play for Oakland. Guys to hold the line while Demarcus Van Dyke and Co. develop.

Don’t expect a high-profile offensive lineman to be signed by the Raiders. I wouldn’t be surprised to see veteran Matt Light to be signed, however.

I know the Raiders are confident with starting two rookies in Stefen Wiz and Joe Barksdale.

I look at the possibility of T.J. Houshmandzadeh signing with Oakland.

Happy Friday, Raider Nation!

With a new sense of optimism that a CBA deal will be reached within the next two weeks, you’ll be seeing a larger amount of articles written fairly soon once their is actually football to talk about.

The Oakland Raiders have made clear that Al Davis does not plan on selling the majority of the franchise, contradicting an earlier report that the Raiders could be in the running to move from Oakland to Los Angeles.

The team is not for sale. It will remain with the Davis family,” said CEO Amy Trask.

I doubt that the Raiders will relocate. They seem intent on getting a new stadium on the current site.
