I don't know if his coverage skills are out of this world. I don't watch many Jets games and I actually don't watch that many Chargers games even though they're in the division. In other words, I don't know much about the guy. What I do know is that, as good as he may cover, if the dude can't tackle he can turn short completions into big plays and turn long completions into touchdowns. If the Raiders want that they can stick with Chris Johnson or give one of the young guys a chance. I also know Cromartie is not on, or mentioned in the paragraphs preceding or following, this list:

Not exactly sure if I have this right, but Jason La Canfora of NFL Network was explaining the rules of the Salary Cap. Again, not entirely sure if i understood correctly, but it sounded as if signing bonuses don't count towards the cap total. So if the Raiders offered Nnamdi a 3 year, 48 million dollar deal with 30 million guaranteed, you would subtract the difference and divide by the number of years, so his salary would count as 6 million towards the cap. Does that sound right? Or did I misinterpret?

Every year the Raiders do something to surprise the league. This year I would hope, and also see it as a possibility, that they would retain the services of the best NFL corner in the league.

Also, I like T.J. because he will not take a lot of play time from the youngsters. At best, he's a 3. At worst, 5th on the chart.

No. I record games onto a tape, and then re-watch. Slow-Mo, re-wind, fast forward and things like that.

It's not the game film coaches use, but it allows you to catch things you don't catch while you're watching live.

I am unhappy with Jemarcus Russell. That move and the Kerry Collins move after Rich Gannon put the Raiders right up there with The Kansas City Chiefs. J, Russell was a business deal that got away.

why TJ??? he is at best a #2 WR and we have plenty of those already...Hue asked spoken at length about how he likes the "young guys" at WR...

you're also paraphrasing Hue when you say "next guy up"...
he said the next guys would have to step up if that happens...he also stated that he would love for Aso to be back and in fact he would love to have all of them back...

I am going to second both Jeffro and GoRaiders19, but with Steve Smith I will up the ante on GoRaiders19 and predict 10-6 for the Raiders, knocking the Chargirls outta there. A Cali native, a college record setter at University of Utah (my home state.. Go Utes!!), a veteran Pro Bowl and All Pro receiver AND at a good price? A no brainer Big Al... I would also go as far to say that Smith could have a couple more 1,000 yard seasons, or close to it, as a Raider while mentoring the younger receivers. If San Diego gets him, he will hurt the Raiders bad, especially if we lose Asomugha, which I hope doesn't happen. If we somehow, miraculously, keep Asomugha AND get Smith, I will even one up the 10-6 to 11-5.

Steve Smith to Oakland. That would absolutely bring another dimension to the raiders offense. They've had decent receivers in the past, but no one to throw the damn ball. Its been over 10yrs since ive been this excited about an up and coming season. With the additions to our secondary made in the off season, 9-7 is my prediction for this year. No substitute for speed, thank you Tom Cable you will be missed.
